Virginia Mae Wright, age 77, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Wynnewood, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in the Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Virginia was born on October 17, 1939, in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. She moved to the Ardmore area by train in 1943. She worked for Elmbrook Nursing Homes and later for Mercy Hospital for 10 years until her retirement in 2000. Virginia was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family and her dog, Bobo.
She married Charles R. Wright and from that union came five children who survive; Charles E. Wright of Sulphur, Angela Strickland of Ada, Jennie Wright of Eastern Oklahoma, Charity Loper and husband Terry of Davis, Elaine Witt and husband Robert of Norman. Eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Two brothers; Jimmy and wife Mae Farve, Lawrence and wife Jean Farve both of Ardmore, Okla.
