Obituary of Shirley Reynolds

Shirley Reynolds, age 80, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in The Chapel at Griffin ~Hillcrest. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla. Shirley was born on October 20, 1936, in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, to Shirley Homer Davis and Nobie Lee (Brady) Davis. She attended Roosevelt Schools where she enjoyed playing basketball. She married Carl “Eddie” Reynolds on January 28, 1952. The couple moved to Gotebo, Okla., for six years where she began her life as a mother and homemaker. In 1958, they moved to Ardmore and she worked for her uncle at Luke’s IGA. Shirley began working for Service Corp International in 1998 as an Administrative Assistant. After eight years, she retired in 2006. She loved having her family around. Shirley was a devout and enthusiastic devotee of OU Sooners Football, even naming her special pet “Boomer.” She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl Eddie Reynolds, daughter, Jeanne Lynn Bickford, three sons-in-law, Stuart Dollard, Steve Howard, and Rick Bickford, two brothers, and two sisters. Shirley is survived by daughter, Carla Christiansen and husband, Larry, daughter, Joye Duplantis and husband, Elwin, and son, Craig Reynolds and girlfriend, Jennifer Williams. Grandchildren: Ashley Huff and husband, Michael, Stephani Norton and husband, Sam, Jaren Howard, Micah Reynolds and wife, Jini, Sarah Nicole Reynolds and fiance’, Eddie O’Connor, Jessica Noel Reynolds and boyfriend, Bobby Johnston, James Marris and wife, Jessica, Joe Marris, Julia Christine Bitton, Olivia Berthelette and husband, Corey, Bradley Stuart Dollard, Benjamin Luke Dollard, and Oakley John Dollard. Great-grandchildren: Jake and Cole Norton, Jacilyn Huff, Tyler Huff, Elizabeth Berthelette, Genevieve Berthelette, John Luke Berthelette, Carlie Mayo, Lydia Jackson, Stetson French, and Berkley Marris. Brother, Jackie Davis, sister-in-law, Jayne Jackson, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Shirley’s grandsons: Micah Reynolds, James Marris, Joe Marris, Jake Norton, Bradley Dollard, and Cole Norton. A family visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, January 31, 2017, at Griffin~Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla.
