Obituary of Georgia Mae Douglas

Georgia Mae Douglas passed away at the age of 73 on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 10, 2017, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ardmore, Okla., with The Reverend Joshua Loftis officiating. Interment to follow at Clearview Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla.
Georgia was born on June 7, 1943, at Lawton, Oklahoma, to J.C. Douglas and Mary (Garcia) Douglas. The family moved to Ardmore, Okla., and Georgia graduated from Douglass High School in Ardmore. She worked for many years as a child daycare worker, and later was a foster grandparent for Will Rogers Schools for over ten years. Georgia was “Grandma” to many children. She loved her family with all her heart. With Georgia, everyone got a blanket. She made one for every person she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Sister Martina Albert and Cecelia Ann Lewis, brother, C.J. Douglas, and grandsons: Ronnie Douglas and Jerry Esemil Williamson, Jr.
Georgia is survived by her children: DeQuita Tunstall, Leaford Williamson, Sherry Williamson, Jerry Williamson, Fredrick Earl Douglas Sr. and wife Ashanti, Charlene Douglas, Charles Douglas and last but not least, Bubba Cohee, and in his voice “That’s my Momma”. Fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Sister, Telina Faye Douglas, brothers: Gary Douglas, Michael Douglas Sr., Billy Joe Douglas Sr., Fred Douglas Sr., and Lawrence Douglas Sr., and a host of family and friends.
