Obituary of Thomas Luke Weddle

Thomas Luke Weddle, age 68, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 1, 2017, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Welch, Minister, officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Thomas was born on January 28, 1949, to Robert M. Weddle and Sarah (Goodwin) Weddle, at Bloomington, Indiana. He graduated from Edgewood High School in Ellettsville, Indiana. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Thomas married Miss Janet Pogue on July 23, 1972. He worked for Michelin most of his life. After his retirement, Thomas worked as a school bus driver for Ardmore City Schools and SOTC. He served has an elder, deacon, and member of the Maxwell Avenue/Merrick Drive Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents. Thomas is survived by his wife, Janet Weddle, two children, Jennifer Merchant and husband, Jay, and Joe Weddle and wife, Brittney, grandchildren: Jayden Merchant, Jaxson Merchant, and Graydon Weddle, and Londyn Louis Weddle. Three brothers: Danny Weddle and wife, Blossam, John Weddle and wife, Sue, Samuel Weddle, one sister, Sara Jane Chasten and husband Everet, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations in Thomas’s name can be made to The Building Fund at The Church of Christ on Merrick Drive, 1951 Merrick Drive, Ardmore, OK 73401. Those serving as pallbearers will be Travis Quick, Tommy Smith, Andy Mullins, Clayton Gay, Shawn Day, and Trent Cooper. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, March 31, 2017, at Griffin~Hillcrest.
