Obituary of Hilton Robert Stubbs

Hilton Robert Stubbs, age 93, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, November 4, 2017, in The Chapel in Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth McIntire officiating. Services will conclude in The Chapel.

Hilton was born on April 2, 1924, in Seminole, Okla. to Theron Everette Stubbs and Martha Estas (Tigner) Stubbs. He attended and graduated from Seminole High School. Hilton moved to Ardmore in the mid 1940’s. Hilton owning and operating the Army/Navy Store later becoming Stubbs Western Wear. Hilton will be remembered for his love of serving the public.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Marie Elizabeth (Deutsch) Stubbs, brother, Theron Everette Stubbs Jr., and two sisters: Inez Ridings and Ethelda Brinker.

Hilton is survived by two daughters, Barbara Stubbs of Ardmore and Paulette Smith and husband, Sammy, of Fort Worth, Texas, and two grandchildren, Cory Dent and wife, Marykate, and Jerimey Dent, all of Fort Worth., five sisters: Johnnie Collins of Seminole, Okla., Clara Streeter of Seminole, Okla., Annette Myrick of Seminole, Okla., Mary Cullison  of Seminole, Okla., Eva Black of Oklahoma City, two brothers:  J.N. Stubbs of Denison, Texas, and George Stubbs of Colbert, Okla.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, November 3, 2017, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
