Obituary of Randall "Randy" Lynn Davis

Randall “Randy” Lynn Davis, age 56, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2017, in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest with the Reverend Steve Wall officiating. Interment will follow in Durwood Cemetery in Carter County, Okla.

Randy was born on April 14, 1961, to Edmond Davis, Sr., and Lula (Lewis) Davis in Atoka, Okla. He attended school at Sequoyah Indian High School at Tahlequah, Okla., and attended classes in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) at Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore. After his training, Randy took a position at Dornick Hills Golf and Country Club of Ardmore as the Golf Course Maintenance Manager. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and being outdoors camping.

Randy served as a Youth Director at Durwood Missionary Baptist Church for four years before accepting the pulpit at Southside Baptist Church and then later at Concord Baptist Church. Randy went on mission trips to New Mexico, Arizona, and throughout the Chickasaw and Choctaw Nations.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea Michelle (Ely) Davis, parents, brother, Ricky Davis.

Randy is survived by son, Derek Davis, and wife, Kelley, and grandson, Elijah Wayne Davis, and granddaughter, Cierra Jayden Davis, all of Lone Grove, Okla., his brothers, J.D. Davis, Claude Davis, Mond Davis and wife, Kathy, all of Ardmore and Glenn Davis, and wife, Lois, of Durant. Sister, Mamie Ashby, and husband, Neal of Ardmore, and a host of nieces, nephews, and family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Davis, Josh McBlair, Clayton Davis, Vernon Davis, Travis Davis, and Clinton Jefferson.

Prayer services will be held on Thursday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, November 9, 2017, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home.
