Obituary of Henry Gale Taylor
Henry Gale “Hank” Taylor, age 62, passed away on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2017. Funeral services will be in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 30, 2017, with Pastor Randy Wade officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla.
Henry was born on February 15, 1955, to Woodrow Stevenson Taylor and Mary Louise (Mose) Taylor. He played ball in his youth and graduated from Plainview High School with the Class of 1973. Henry worked at Beetle Plastic building tanks and for Lloyd Smith Tire Corp., both located at the Ardmore Industrial Airpark. He worked for Ardmore Construction Supply, Mac’s Wholesale Supply, and for many years as a roustabout in oilfield services for Lincoln Rock. He enjoyed repurposing items that he found. Playing pool, guitar, and just getting out and driving around were his hobbies. He loved the companionship of his dogs, Baby and Tiny. Hank and Pam were together for 43 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Woodrow Stevenson Taylor Jr., sister, Dinah Henson, and two great-nephews: Derrick Taylor and Kylen De’shawn Taylor-McGee.
Henry is survived by his girlfriend, Pamela Shurley, brother, Erey “Steve” Taylor and wife, Lou. Sisters: Linda Denham and husband, Jerry, and Mary Marris and husband, Phil. Brother in-law Michael Henson. Sixteen nephews and nieces, and twenty-seven great-nephews and nieces, and three great-great-nieces and nephew. All of Ardmore.
Pallbearers will be William Denham, Gregory Marris, Michael Carney, Maddox Burmeister, Mark Carney, Daniel A. Pelton and, Mark Joe.
Honorary Pallbearers Trista “ Birdie” Carney, Erey “Steve” Taylor, Jerry Denham, Phil Marris, Randy Carney, Eddie Johnson, William McNeely, Calvin Carney, Richard Carney, Derick Pelton, Daniel J. Pelton and, Randy Johnson.
Prayer services will be held on Friday evening, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, December 29, 2017, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
