I REMEMBER READING A CHAPTER IN THE BIBLE WHEN I WAS THREE OR FOUR YEARS OLD. I REMEMBER BEING SCARED A BIT BUT DONE GOOD AT IT. I GUESS THOSE WORDS WERE MEANT FOR ME BECAUSE LAST APRIL I HAVE BEEN A SERVANT OF GOD FOR FIFTY TWO YEARS. I WROTE MR. TROUT BACK IN THE LATE EIGHTIES OR EARLY NINETIES AND ASK HIM IF HE KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT OUR RELATIVE THAT FOUGHT IN THE BATTLE OF SAN JACINTO OF THE SECOND VOLUTEER TEXAS ARMY. HE WROTE BACK TO ME AND SAID YES, WE HAD A RELATIVE WHOSE NAME WAS BENJAMIN BUTLER BRYANT WHO WAS IN THE SECOND VOLUTEER ARMY CALVARY AND WHO AFTER THE BATTLE WAS OVER WENT BACK TO EAST TEXAS THAT BORDERED LOUISIANA WHERE HIS HOME WAS. THEN HOUSTON GAVE HIM ORDERS TO START A FORT IN CENTRAL TEXAS ( FORT BRYANT ) TO HELP PROTECT EARLY SETTLERS AGAINST THE COMANCHE. LOVE THIS STORY. REV. LAWRENCE ( LARRY D.
HUNT ).
