RIP Dee. You were loved by many, and though we never met, I know the love Clayton has for you so deep and true. Your babies are in good hands and you are able to be with the ones you’ve lost while waiting on those left behind. May your spirit live on.

I just wanted to take a second and say how thankful I am for the friendship that Dee and I shared for so many, many years! She was the bestest best friend a girl could ever ask for. We met while working at White county and didn’t even realize for the longest that we lived right down the road from each other! When she went to work at kids first I was sad because my friend was working somewhere else but it wasn’t long and she helped get me on working at kids first!! We even became parents around the same time!! God placed us in each other’s lives because we needed each other to get through good times and bad!! While Clay was away in Afghanistan, my husband was also on the road and gone a lot and we always joked around about being married to each other. She was always there for me no matter what! When she moved to Texas we remained friend and talked frequently about life and things happening in the phone. Often when she was sick in the hospital she would pick up the phone and call me!! I am missing you terribly my friend, here on Earth but I know you are healed and whole and resting in the arms of sweet Jesus now!!!! Rest In Peace my sweet, best friend!! I will see you again!!

I just want to add some memories of Dee.
She had many milestones in her life, When she married me, she made my life complete. Later that year, she gave birth to our baby, Stephanie, in June. The hospital tried so very hard to save her, but we lost the heartbeat during her birth. We continued on and she continued to work at Wadley BDC, then when it changed names to Bloodcare, and eventually when they merged with Carter of Fort Worth. She got a tech position at Parkland and was working both jobs for a period of time. then cut back and started riding on the truck with me during her off periods. She eventually left Parkland and rode on the truck full time with me and our company convinced us to get her CDL and she did and we began running as a team. But motherhood was calling and she really wanted children. We started putting down roots in Arkansas and bought a home there and we started the application process to adopt.
At the same time she applied to go to nursing school and in the same week she was accepted into nursing school, we were also notified we were accepted into the foster/adoption program. Knowing full well we could not accomplish an adoption and nursing school at the same time, we shelved the adoption until her graduation from the school.
She graduated and we also was reaccpted as parents, and began the arduous process to foster and adopt. Considering the class scheduling and everything, about a year after her graduation, we were granted fostering/adoption privileges and Lauren Cassidy and George Landon Gage was placed into our home and we eventually made our family totally complete. This was absolutely the happiest I had ever seen Dee. She was and has been so happy and thrilled and complete with these two angels sent from heaven.
Beginning in 2015, her health declined and she was unable to continue working and retired and we moved to Oklahoma. We later settled in Ardmore because it was so close to the hospital and we had to frequent it so much.
I really want to thank people in Dee's place. This is a short list, and I cant name everyone, but many people in her life made a big difference in it.
Of course her Daddy, her Papa, and her Nana, and her uncle Dennis. Of which she is celebrating with right now.
Her mom was her best friend all her life. She had many friends growing up and Darryl Bugg, I know you were her first love, and if you read this, think of her for a moment.
She lost a good friend to violence and is how with her again. She lost a coworker the same way a few years ago. She was devastated each time.
LaSonya Cummings, she remembers you often and all the fun you two had together at work. All her co workers at Wadley, of which I am drawing a blank, she regaled in the exploits at A&M and North Texas drives!
When she started work at White County she found a lifelong friend in Ashley Melton. She mentored Ashley so much and you both became mothers about the same time and shared so much. She eventually went to Kid's First and made more friends such as Hope Lefler , and most importantly , a woman that made it so that we could adopt the two children, she was a mentor for Dee, a cheerleader, and a friend in Lori Simmons.
When the move to Texas was necessary, she made friends in the neighborhood with many of the neighbors. Steve was a real good one, and so was Elias. Ashley C was always there as well.
While there in Texas, She eventually went to work for Jackie Hogan, and found a bestie in her. She also found Tracie as well. and many others that loved her as much as I did.
I just want to let you all know you all left footprints in her heart. And I am sure her's are in yours as well. Just do me a favor, come July 11, and all those following, Dont remember a store, remember Dee. She was the best thing about 7/11 ever.
Clayton.
