Obituary of Cynthia Joy Newcomb

Cynthia Joy “Cindy” (Hicks) Newcomb, age 65, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the Lone Grove Assembly of God, Lone Grove, Okla., with The Reverend Gary Dotson officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore.

Cindy was born on June 27, 1953, to Doyle and Mary Joyce (Tyner) Hicks, at Ardmore, Okla. She graduated from Ardmore High School with the Class of 1971. She attended Lone Grove Assembly of God. Cindy worked for Ardmore City Schools for twelve years. She also helped her parents in their restaurant business. She enjoyed playing bingo with her two special friends, Dianne Richards and Charlene Howerton.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Hicks, brother, Dennis Hicks, and grandson Jake Newcomb.

Cindy is survived by her father Doyle Hicks; husband, Randy Newcomb of 47 years, daughter, Crystal Parkhill, son, Darin Newcomb; Four grandchildren: Taryn Corbett, Montana Corbett, Journey Parkhill, and Tait Newcomb; great-granddaughter, A’Miyah Markanson; and friend and neighbor, Dorothy Beames.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Richards, Rodney Wayne Richards, Ray Pearson, Roy McMillian, Shane Newcomb, and Jayson Newcomb.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, January 21, 2019, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home of Ardmore.
