Obituary of Joe Don Bugg

Joe Don Bugg, age 72, passed away on July 21, 2016, at McKinney, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 23, 2016, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Sr. Associate Pastor Holly Bandel officiating. Services will conclude in the chapel with private interment to follow. Joe was born April 9, 1944, in Gainesville TX., to George W. Bugg, Jr. and Betty Jo (Thompson) Bugg. He attended Gainesville High school and later attended Baylor University. He married Ramona (Fryer) Bugg on June 25, 1971, in Gainesville, TX. The couple then moved to Oklahoma City, where Joe became the owner and operated a hardware store. He was the Operations Manager for Crystal River Production in Oklahoma City. He then got his real estate license and became a realtor in Oklahoma City, Gainesville, TX., and McKinney, TX., and is the Co-Owner for REMAX Realty where he has worked to this date. As a member of Stonebridge United Methodist Church of McKinney, TX., Joe devoted his life to working in his church as chairman of the finance committee and giving his time to those in need by volunteering his time to The Stephen Ministries. He loved volunteering in his community as well. Joe volunteered in administrative positions with Samaritan Inn Homeless Shelter and at Medical Center of McKinney, TX. He loved playing board games and dominos with family members. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ramona (Fryer) Bugg, and son, Walt Bell and brother in-law Frankie “Sonny” Fryer and sister in-law Pauline Lane. Joe is survived by his son, Kent Bell, daughter, Nikki Hobbs Bell, son, Jeff Bell, and wife Kristie. Granddaughters; Hannah Bell and Katie Bell, sisters-in-laws; Cleo Johnson and husband, Hugh Gene, Shirley Broughton, Karen Jackson, and husband Jim, and Wanda Fryer. Aunt, Frances Bourland, cousins; Linda James and Stacy Edwards and husband, Jeff, Brad Bugg, Sim James, and Kendall Edwards. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Griffin~Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla.
