Obituary of Norma Jean Dement

Norma Jean Dement, age 90, passed away on May 15, 2019, in Ardmore, OK.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, May 20, 2019, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Norma Jean was born on September 2, 1928, to Fred A. King and Alma Odessa (Batty) King, in Caney, OK. She attended school at Mannesville, OK. She married Ira Hershel Dement on June 23, 1993, in Gainesville, Texas. She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved being with her family and having family gatherings, she loved when everyone would get together and sing and play music. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Norma was a member of Crystal Rock Cathedral in Ardmore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Henry Williams, previous husband, Ira Hershel Dement, son, Allen Williams, brothers, Bernice King, Negial King and Melvin King, sisters, Juanita Jones and Roberta Cain.

Norma Jean is survived by her sons, Lee Williams and wife, Maggie, of Ardmore, and John Holt, of Dallas, TX., daughter, Elaine Stephenson, and husband, Charles of Ardmore, one sister, Lucille Norris, Des Moines, Iowa, grandchildren, Jimmie Dodson, Jr., of Ardmore, OK., Robby Dodson, and wife, Sharon of Ardmore, Randal Williams, of Ardmore, Scotty Williams, and wife, Mel, of Ardmore, Chris Williams, and wife, Jennifer, of Ardmore, Jaime Hale, and husband, Logan, of Dickson, OK., Jadyn Williams, of Dickson,  Elizabeth Williams, and husband, of Ada, OK., step grandchildren, Ashleigh Shepard, and husband, Scott, of Ardmore, twenty-two great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
