Obituary of Leo Allen Freeman

Leo Allen Freeman, age 91, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2016, at New Covenant Fellowship Church of Ardmore with his nephew, The Reverend Bobby Freeman, officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla.
Leo was born on April 15, 1925, to George Allen Freeman and Ada Lee (Bedford) Freeman in Healdton, Okla. He was one of five brothers and two sisters. The family moved to Forney and he attended school at Forney for a short time before moving back to Healdton and attended schools there. He was called to serve his country in the United States Navy in World War II. After his honorable discharge from the service, he moved to Wilson, Okla. He will be remembered as a great craftsman in his trade as carpenter. He was a master at framing buildings and always taught those willing to learn. With the use of his knowledge, he always made the work site run smooth. Leo was an avid fisherman. Leo married Reba Hammond and from this marriage came three children, Louise, Susan, and Henry. After that marriage ended, he and Lucille Huff married and he gained two step-children, Franklin and Louette. One of the first members, Leo helped pioneer New Covenant Fellowship Church in his home with his brother, The Reverend Bill Freeman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his children Louise, Susan, and Louette.
Leo is survived by his sons: Reverend Frank Huff, and wife, Elvy, of Madill, Okla., and Henry Allen Freeman, of Brookings, Oregon. Brother, Bill Freeman, and wife, Karen, of Ardmore, and sister, Beaula Ann Fast, and husband, Don, of Maryville, Missouri. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, good friends that he was a contractor with, Lester and Eva Lou Powell, and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Apala, Frank Huff Jr., Ramond Huff, Robert Huff, Richard Huff, and Mike Bralley.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Griffin~Hillcrest.
