Jackie C. Blanton, age 73, passed away on November 20, 2016, at Homey Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla. with Pastor Mike Caraway officiating.
Jackie was born on August 2, 1943 to John H. Blanton and Vera Vivian (Love) Blanton. He attended Ardmore City Schools. He worked with his brother Dan Blanton as a brick layer. Jackie enjoyed spending time with his brother, fishing and going dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Oscar Blanton and Dan Blanton, and one sister, Vivian Kent.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Betty Sherwood, six children; Betty Walls, Sandra McLanathan, Carol Griner, Jackie Blanton Jr., Eddie Vaughn, and Missy St. Clair, two brothers; Junior Blanton and Turman Blanton, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla.
