Obituary of Ken Troy Moss

Ken Troy Moss, age 82, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, at Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla., with Pastor David Gardner officiating. Ken was born on September 27, 1934, to Troy Moss and Willie Faye (Lusk) Moss at Clemscott, Okla. He attended school in Bakersfield, California, and moved to Ardmore when he was eighteen. He married Helen Lorena McGee on December 24, 1955, in Vernon, Texas. The couple went to work in the oilfield in the Kermit, Texas, area. Ken enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1954, served his country, and received an honorable discharge in 1957. He moved to Ardmore and then later taking a position in 1974 with Vickers Refinery. Ken retired in1995 when it was Total Refinery. Ken’s happiest moments in life were spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife were Licensed Horse Trainers of American Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds Association. In his youth, he enjoyed bowling on leagues. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Moss, mother, Willie Faye Johnson, step-father, Luther Johnson, and father, Troy Moss. Two sons: Ricky Moss and Johnny Moss, and son-in-law, Johnny Clinton. One great-granddaughter, five brothers, one sister, and two nephews. Ken is survived by two daughters: Renee “Celina” Walls and husband, Wendall, of Tishomingo, Okla., and Brenda Clinton of Wilson, Okla., and six grandchildren: Johnny Clinton and wife, Brittney, Stephanie Clinton and spouse, Lena, Jamie Walls, Stacey (Walls) Munson and husband, Tyler, Chris Walls, and Kevin Moss. Six great-grandchildren: Payton Brawley, Blake Brawley, Alora (Walls) Boggs, Danya Moss, Taelyn Holbrook Clinton, and Beaudy Lee Clinton. Two sisters: Nona Robinson and husband, Floyd, and Margret Perkins and two sisters-in-law: Carolyn Taylor and June Johnson. Numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, November 25, 2016, at Griffin-Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla. Serving as honorary bearers will be the Boy's Athletic Dept. of Thackerville Schools and co-workers from Valero and Total Refineries. Condolences may be left at www.griffinhillcrest.com
