Obituary of Roger Dale Conway

Roger Dale Conway, age 78, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020, in Ardmore, Okla. Private family services are planned. Cremation under the care of Griffin ~ Hillcrest Crematory of Ardmore. Roger was born at Gene Autry, Oklahoma, on April 10, 1942, to Herbert Mack Conway and Ola Mae (Gunzolus) Conway. He attended and graduated from Ardmore Schools. In 1960, Roger enlisted in the United States Army and while serving his country he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He retired from the US Army after 21 years of distinguished service in 1981. Roger married Patricia Brake on April 8, 1982. The couple moved to Whitney, Texas, to enjoy his retirement. In 1991, the couple moved their family to Ardmore, where he worked at Taylors Liquor Store until it closed in 2004. Roger enjoyed watching Westerns and Wrestling, playing dominos, and going to the local casinos. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Robert Conway, Russell Mackenzie Conway, and Robert Austin Conway, sister, Darlene Huff, and four brothers: Richard Conway, Fred Conway, James Conway, and Lawrence Conway. Roger is survived by his wife, Patricia Conway, of Ardmore, sister, Diane Tibbs, of Dickson, Okla., honorary daughter, Tracie Gardner and husband, Jacob, of Ardmore, granddaughter, Keirsten Gardner, two daughters, Michelle Conway and Wendy Conway, son, Jonathan Conway and numerous nieces and nephews.
