Obituary of Lois Jean Black

Lois Jean Black, age 76, passed away on September 5, 2021, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, September 9, 2021, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Lois was born on April 6, 1945, to Louis Allen Doyal and Melba Mae (Barrett) Doyal in Ryan, Okla. She attended Fox School and later received her GED. She married Cass Winston Downey in 1960 and was a homemaker until that marriage ended. She went to work at Stromberg Carlson and Ardmore Cleaners. She then worked at Modern Loan for seven years where she retired. In 1997, she married Roy Black on June 3, 1984 in Madill, Okla. She traveled with her husband Roy while he was working as truck driver. She loved to go play Bingo and, in her youth, loved to go fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Ronny Allen Doyal and brothers, Billy Doyal, Jerry Doyal, Loy Emmit Doyal, and grandchild, Jeremy Vincent Bailey. Lois is survived by her children; son, Billy Downey, son, Benny Earl Downey and son, Dylan Ray Black, daughter, Rhonda Jean Downey, daughter, Sandra Kay Bone, son, Jackie Louis Downey, and daughter, Ashley Nicole Black. Twenty-two grandchildren, and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. One brother, Jimmy Doyal and wife, Billie Jean, two sisters, Linda Jones and Mary Nell Crabtree, sister-in-law, Marie Doyal, and numerous nieces, nephews and host of family and friends. Casket bearers will be; Billy Downey, Ronny Doyal, Terry Conly, Johnny Cryer, Jackie Downey and Dakota Downey. Visitation will be 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
