A celebration of the life of Terry Dwain Thompson, age 65, of Ardmore, Okla., who passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Holiday Inn in Ardmore from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Cremation services under the direction of Griffin~Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla.
Terry was born to Lewis Thompson and Pearl (Ford) Thompson on January 25, 1951, in Sherman, Texas. He grew up in Southern California, and served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1973. He moved to Sherman, Texas, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts and then ascertained a Master’s in Art Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University; moving to Oklahoma in 1977, where Terry taught for several years. He then worked for the Ardmoreite for 13 years before becoming self-employed with his own business Thompson’s Red River Beef Jerky. Terry was a beloved local artist, cartoonist, and business owner.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Thompson.
Terry is survived by his wife, Kathy Thompson, of the home. Father, Lewis Thompson of Ardmore. Daughter, Wendy Turner-Williams, and husband, Adam, of Lynnwood, WA. Son, Andrew Thompson and wife, Katie, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Grandchildren: Katelyn Turner, Zoey Williams, Amy Williams, Lily Thompson, Jack Thompson, Rose Thompson, and Vivian Williams. Sisters: Linda Ludwig and Joan Brewer, both of Ardmore, and Brenda Williams, of Covina, CA, and brothers: Jerry Wayne Thompson of Ardmore, Okla., and John Thompson of Ontario, CA.
