Obituary of Charles Franklin "Charlie" Roberts

Charles Franklin “Charlie” Roberts, age 65, passed away on February 16, 2022, in Edmond, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 21, 2022 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with The Reverend Sharon Ferguson-Wright officiating. Interment to follow in Provence Cemetery.
Charlie was born on March 29, 1956, to Verden Roberts and Opal Elizabeth Roberts. He graduated from Madill High School with the class of 1974. Charlie married Margie Shorter on September 16, 1977. He worked at Atlas Roofing for 30 years, during this time he served as president of the United Steel Workers Union for the plant and retired in 2011. The couple opened “It’s From The Heart Inc.” at Lone Grove, Okla. in 2013. Charlie enjoyed black and white movies and his 70’s music. He was an avid OU fan and would always support his team; but his favorite sport was watching his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Linda Mitchell and Bridget Hill, and brothers; Ronnie Roy and Buddy Roberts.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margie Roberts, of the home, son, Jason Roberts, and wife, Krystal, of Lone Grove, son, Justin Roberts, and wife, Faith, of Whitesboro, TX., four grandchildren; favorite oldest grandson, Hayden Roberts, favorite granddaughter, Taylor Roberts, favorite middle grandson, Jastin Roberts, and favorite youngest grandson, Kysen Roberts and one on the way. Brother, Mark Roberts and wife, Rita, of Madill and adapted sister, Jennifer Renfroe, of Wilson, Okla., and his dog, Clifford.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be his sons; Jason Roberts and Justin Roberts, Grandson, Hayden Roberts, nephews; Randy Roy, Chris Roy, Chris Roberts, Dustin Ballard and Tracey Ballard.
Honorary casket bearers will be; Steve Renfroe, Jim Stoddard, Ron Norton, and Gene Brunk.
