Obituary of Addie Lenora (Carson) Marr

Addie Lenora (Carson) Marr, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 1, 2016, at Crinerville Cemetery with Mr. Dana Burchett officiating. Addie was born on July 3, 1925, to Lee Renick Carson and Mary Evelyn (Boone) Carson at Leakey, Texas. She married Albert William Marr on October 11, 1941, at Walters, Okla. The couple moved to Ardmore, Okla., where she worked as a homemaker, caring and raising her family. Addie enjoyed quilting in her youth, and will be remembered as a loving mother, good cook, her green thumb, and for her rose gardens. Addie was a Jehovah Witness all her life and loved her Father in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David William Marr and Billy Ray Marr; daughter, Donna Carter; and great-granddaughter, Kelsey Cunningtubby. Addie is survived by her two daughters, Linda Burris and husband Johnny, of Lone Grove, Okla., and Barbara Marsh and husband Rex, of Ardmore, Okla.; two sons, Edward Marr and Dale Marr and wife, Sue, both of Ardmore, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, March 31, 2016, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
