Obituary of Josephine Ned

Josephine Ned, age 72, passed away on August 25, 2022, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with Pastor Stanley Shomo Officiating. Interment to follow in Nelda Cemetery. Josephine was born at Talihina, Okla., on August 14, 1950, to Benjamin Scott and Clemmer (John) Scott. She attended Carter Seminary and was a graduate of Ardmore High School with the class of 1968. Josephine was a graduate of Okmulgee Tech and SOTC and received her LPN. She went on to have a career with Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, where she retired. Josephine loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching religious shows, allowing her to praise her Lord whenever she could. She was preceded in death by her parents, baby boy Ned, six sisters: Betty Ned, Brenda Sampson, Roberta Ned, Phyllis Sampson, Mary Ned, and Louella Scott, brothers, Calvin Ned, and Mac Daniel Scott. Josephine is survived by her son, Brian Ned and wife, Melissa, daughter, Lisa Douglas and husband, JD, son, Michael Ned, son Kenny Ned and wife, Gayla. Eleven grandchildren; Taryn Rateliff, Kendra Rateliff, Ta’Leah Douglas, Kalie Douglas, Jade Douglas, Kayden Douglas, Jayston Dailey, Kyler Ned, Tinzley Douglas, Staley Ned, Torrance Ned, great-grandchildren; Camden Rateliff, Madelyn Irons, Gabriel Ned, Aradessa Ned, Tabias Ned and two on the way. Brothers, Curtis Ned, Benjamin Scott Jr., Darrell Brooksholder, and Dexter Brooksholder. Two sisters; Rhonda Ned, and Judy Scott. Her canine companion and guard dog, Rugar and numerous nieces, nephews, and host of family and friends. Pallbearers will be; Kenny Ned, Torrance Ned, Gabriel Ned, Chris Scott, Chris Sampson, Dustin Sampson and JD Douglas. Prayer services will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, August 29, 2022, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Pastor Mond Davis officiating.
