Obituary of Charles Ray Ausbern

Charles Ray Ausbern, age 86, passed away on February 6, 2023, in Bridgeport, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2023, in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest. Services will conclude in the chapel.
He was born on November 16, 1936, to Charles Revell Ausbern and Irene (Cox) Ausbern, in Pawhuska, Okla. He attended school at Wild Horse Okla., Las Vegas, Grand Falls Texas and graduated from Crane, Texas.
Charles married Miss Rosalee Phylis Hayhurst on August 8, 1958, in Davis, Texas. He was drafted into the army and they lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, from late 1960 to January of 1962. The couple returned to Crane where they raised and showed rabbits. They continued showing rabbits even after they moved to Odessa, Texas. They then moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, in 1987. In January of 2001, they moved to Lone Grove, Okla., and lived there for over fifteen years. They moved to Bridgeport, Texas, to be near their daughter, Kendra, in December of 2016. He loved to go fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Margare Campbell and three brothes-in-law.
Charles is survived by his son, Johnny Ausbern, daughter, Kendra Lindsey and husband, Milton and one grandson, Levi Lindsey, two sisters, Peggy Sue Tilley and Linda Trotter and brother, Tommy Ausbern.
Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be Milton Lindsey, Levi Lindsey, Danny Hodge, Charles Endicott, Josh Endicott and Clayton Bengiman.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2023, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla.
