Obituary of Jerry Stephen Denham

Jerry Stephen “PePaw” Denham, age 69, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 27, 2023, in the Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home of Ardmore with The Reverend Steve Skinner officiating. Cremation with care to follow. Jerry was born at Wilson, Okla., on December 7, 1953, to Dub Denham and Martha Lee (Dobson) Denham. He graduated from Lone Grove High School with the Class of 1972. He met the love of his life, Linda Taylor, on the drag in Ardmore, Okla. Jerry and Linda married on August 31, 1973. He had various jobs over the years and included working for Coca-Cola, Beetle Plastic, Ardmore Construction, and even worked in the oilfield. He loved playing all types of music on his guitar. He was lovingly known by three of his great-grandchildren as “BaBu”. Jerry loved playing chauffer for his children, grandchildren, and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, sister, Linda Ellis, in-laws, Woodrow and Mary Taylor, and brother-in-law, Henry Taylor, sister-in-law, Dinah Henson, niece, Lisa Ellis. Jerry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Denham, his children: Alesha Webb and husband, Jeremiah, Eva Denham, Ava Denham and husband, Daniel Pelton, William Denham, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Brothers: James Denney and wife, Jane, Roy Denney and wife, Betty, Charles Denney and wife, Joanie, Randy Denham and wife, Lawania, and Wendell Denham. Sisters, Debbie King and husband, Herman, Kathy Covert, and brother-in-law, Nick Ellis and Richard Covert. His bonus children and grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Prayer services will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday evening, February 26, 2023, at Griffin~Hillcrest.
