Robin Lee Zoe “Bird” Wilson passed away at the age of 16 in Kingston, Okla., on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 26, 2016, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Pastor Bill Freeman officiating.
Robin was born on April 6, 1999, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Rocky Lee Asbjeld and Shelina Jo (Richards) Asbjeld. In February of 1999, her father passed away and after a short time her mother moved the family to Ardmore to be near her family. When her mother married Darrell Wilson and he adopted Robin at that time. Robin attended Jefferson Elementary in Ardmore and when the family moved to Lone Grove she attended primary, junior high and some high school at Lone Grove. She excelled in the choir and won high marks in vocal arts contests and in Track. A very intelligent person, Robin was in many advanced academic classes. She was in color guard and made friends wherever she went. Robin will be remembered for her wit and intelligent way of telling it like it is without hurting your feelings.
She was preceded in death by her biological father, Rocky Asbjeld, and grandfather, loving known by Robin as Popa Jr., Albert Wilson Jr.
Robin is survived by her mother, Shelina Richards, of Mannsville, Okla., brother, Jerry Asbjeld, of Mannsville, Okla., and father, Darrell Wilson, of McAlester, Okla. Grandparents: Jerry and Diann Jacobs of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, and Betty Wilson of Dow, Okla. Aunt, Alesa Stinson and husband, Randy, of Mannsville, Okla.
The family will greet guests on Friday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, March 25, 2016, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla.
