Obituary of Mark Vernon Taylor

Mark Vernon “Pappy” Taylor, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2023, at his home in Ardmore, Okla. The family has planned memorial services for a later date. Cremation with care under the direction of Griffin~Hillcrest. Mark was born on August 12, 1956, in Odessa, Texas, to Elmer Lee Taylor and Wilma Ruth (Nall) Taylor. He and his brother, Dale, opened Taylor Machine, a machine shop in Ardmore, Okla. He worked as a machinist there until he retired. He loved going fast, and was an absolute gear head. He loved tinkering and building things. His grandkids were his everything and they absolutely adored their Pappy. Mark was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years, Betty Jean Taylor, father, Elmer Lee Taylor and mother, Wilma Ruth Harwick, brothers, Eric Mitchell Taylor and Marlon Dale Taylor, and nephew, Rusty Taylor. Mark is survived by his children: Wendy Taylor Folmar and husband, Steve, Catherine Taylor Fousse and husband, Jim, Christopher Allen Chambers and wife, Jodi, Selena Jean Garrison and husband, James, Shavona Sue Smith, and bonus daughter Sandy Lucille Taylor and husband, Ryan. Grandchildren: Lexie Michelle Gage, Courtney Michelle Garrison and partner, Tyler, Haylee Renae Folmar, Colin James Duke, Maycee Marie Folmar, Chase Evan Fousse, Augustus Colt Allen Chambers, Georgia JoAnn Chambers, Kylee Nichole Fousse, and Charlotte Grace Chambers, bonus grandchildren: Rhett Taylor and Sawyer Taylor, great-grandchildren: Lucas Williams and Sawyer Williams, sister-in-law, Debby Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
