Lela Mitchell Parker Patteson, age 90, died in her sleep March 13, 2016 at Sommerset Assisted Living in Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, March 18, 2016 in Hillcrest Memorial Park with The Reverend Walt Spradling officiating.
Lela was born April 5, 1925 in Denison, Texas. She moved to Ardmore OK in 1960 when she married her beloved husband, Sidney “Pat” Patteson. They lived happily together until Pat’s death in 2001. Lela was a kind, loving and generous wife, mother and friend. She loved to read, play games and visit with friends. She never met a stranger. Lela left her home of 50 years to move to Norman near her children in 2013. She was proud of her family.
Lela is survived by her children, Sandra Scroggins and husband Edward of Norman, OK; Joseph “Rusty” Parker and wife Karen of Mustang, Jodene Moran of Avalon CA, Arlen “Pat” Patteson and wife Shirley of Rochester, NY; Connie Gomes of Laguna Woods, CA, and Lynette Stilson and husband Dan of Clovis, CA; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, Friday, March 18, 2016 at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
