Obituary of Alberta Eileen Annis

Alberta Eileen Annis, a long-time resident of the Ardmore area, entered God’s Kingdom, August 29, 2023, surrounded by her close family. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, and services will follow at 11:00 am, on September 1, 2023, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest. Interment to follow in The Seaman First Class Billy Turner Veterans Cemetery.
She was born in Memphis, Tennessee and was the middle child of Alberta and Charles Feeney of Earle, Arkansas. She married her high school sweetheart, David C. Annis, Sr. They were married for nearly 61 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. David and Eileen moved from Earle, Arkansas to Ardmore, Oklahoma in 2003.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ardmore, where she was a very active member. She and David attended the Senior Adult 2 Sunday School class. Eileen enjoyed Tuesday Morning Bible Study for many years. She and David were active members of the Young at Hearts through First Baptist Church. Eileen always enjoyed opening her home for the Annual Sunday School Christmas Party. She was known for elaborate Christmas decorations and for being a gracious hostess. She was also a very active member in Red Hats and Oklahoma Home and Community Education Club for many years.
Thank you to Mercy Home Health and Good Shepherd Hospice for the love and compassion they exhibited while caring for Eileen.
She leaves behind her husband, David, sister, Phyllis A. Feeney and a brother, Phillip K. Feeney and wife Brenda. Two sons, David C. Annis, Jr, and wife Emmy; Darrell A. Annis, and wife Terry. Three grandchildren, David C. Annis, III, Sarah V. Annis, Matthew A. Annis, and wife Anastasia.
