Obituary of Alexander Theodore Medlin

Alexander Theodore “Alex” Medlin, age 30, passed away on October 6, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, October 13, 2023, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with The Reverend Steve Skinner officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Alex was born on October 14, 1992, in Ft. Carson Army Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO to Rick Medlin and Laura Jean ( Dempsey) Medlin. The family lived overseas for a while and in Panama for four years. After his parents service ended they moved back to Colorado and then to Osage, Iowa, where Alex graduated High School. In 2012, the family moved to Ardmore, where Alex took a position with The Michelin Tire Plant and worked until his illness had forced him to retire. When given a chance, he loved to go fishing for croppie or bass. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents; Carl and Pearl May, aunt, Carol Shannon, and uncle, Johnny Carr. Alex is survived by his parents, Laura and Rick Medlin of Wilson, brother, Jeremy Rockwell, of Colorado Springs, Co., brother, Johnathan Medlin, and wife Linda, of Frisco, TX., former fiancé, Patricia Briones and her children, Jimena and Daniella “Dani”, whom Alex loved with all his heart. grandparents, John and Janice Dempsey, of Osage, Ohio, uncle, Mark Dempsey and wife, Coni of Mason City, Iowa, aunt, Anne Ladner and husband, Chris, of Little Rock, AK, uncle, Dick Rodgers, and wife, Margaret of Mason City, Iowa, aunt, Carlotta Carr, of Des Moines, Iowa, aunt, Carlene Blomker and husband, Dan Erickson, of Humbolt, Iowa, uncle, Erwin “Tom” May, of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, and numerous cousins and a host of family and friends. Casket bearers will be his family; Dick Rodgers, Jeremy Rockwell, Johnathan Medlin, Mark Dempsey, Alex Clement, and Chris Ladner. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
