Buel “Babe” Roberts, age 77, passed away on December 15, 2023, in Ardmore, Okla.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 21, 2023, In The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck McElroy officiating. Interment will follow in McMillan Cemetery.
Babe was born on February 20, 1946, to Lila Mae McKinney in Lindsey, CA. He attended Dickson Schools. He worked for Stock Dale Plumbing and then Hoyle Holt Plumbing before starting his own business with his brother and then went back to Hoyle Holt Plumbing, where he retired. Babe married Catrina Roberts on July 6, 1979. They made their home in Ardmore, Okla. He liked to fish and woodwork. He was a member of Blue Ribbon Missionary Baptist Church. Babe loved watching football and was an avid Thunder fan as well as watching basketball with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lila Mae McKinney, brothers, Melvin and Larry Roberts.
Babe is survived by his wife, Catrina “Coco” Roberts, son, Rodney Thompson and his wife, Shelly Thompson, of Saint Joe, TX, daughter, Cindy Pass, grandchildren, Autumn Thompson, of Wilson, Okla., Dillon Thompson, and his wife, Olivia, of Wilson, Okla., great-grandson, Sawyer Thompson; sisters, Venetta Turner, and Regina Maytubby, brother-in-laws, Stanley Maytubby, Cecil Shelton, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Glen Shelton, of Ardmore, Okla. Several sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, that he loved dearly. Special nieces, Gayla Culley, of Tulsa, Okla. and Sherry Culley, of Denton, TX. and a host of Cousins, Family and Friends.
Pallbearers will be Joey Nichols, Dale Culley, Glen Shelton, Brenda Thompson, Tim Russell and Levi Russell.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home.
The family asks that donations be made in his name to The Blue Ribbon Missionary Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank granddaughter, Autumn Thompson and sister Karen Tinsley that has been by our side every step of the way. Also, would like to thank Pastor Chuck McElroy and all the church members for all their thoughts and prayers and the delicious lunch.
