Obituary of William Lee Goddard

William Lee Goddard, age 87, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016, at Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 25, 2016, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla. William was born on May 12, 1928, to Paul Goddard and Rella (Cummings) Goddard at Clemscott, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wilson High School at Wilson, Okla. William married Miss Gloria Jo Chappell on April 30, 1948, at Gainesville, Texas. He went to work for Carter Oil in Oklahoma and, after 32 years of service in the oil and gas industry, retired from Exxon Oil while working for them in Colorado. William has been an active member of Bear Creek Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, for 19 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rella Goddard, and brothers, Edward Goddard and Paul Goddard, Jr. William is survived by his wife, Gloria Goddard, of the home. Son, David Goddard, and wife, Vickie, and their children, Cameron and Kristin. Son, Michael Goddard, and wife, Linda, and their children, Mikey, Michelle, Mitchell, and Matthew. Eight great-grandchildren. Brother, Jerry Goddard, and wife, Ce, and sister, Evelyn Paluh. William’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, February 24, 2016, at Griffin~Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla.
