Obituary of Mary Virginia Crosthwait

Mary Virginia Crosthwait, age 84, passed away on November 1, 2016, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Saturday, November 5, 2016, in the Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Brother Robert Wilson to officiate. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla. Virginia was born on March 1, 1932, to Barney Allen Loughridge and Mattie Bell (Gold) Loughridge, at Lone Grove, Okla. She attended Dickson Elementary and Ardmore Jr. High Schools. She married Richard “R.D.” Crosthwait on July 10, 1947, at Yuma, Arizona. She was a member of the Mary Niblack Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, garage sales and watching hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her husband R.D. Crosthwait, parents, step father Luther Benson, two brothers; Doss Loughridge and Clinton Loughridge, one sister, Grace Riner McGee and one infant son, Richard D. Crosthwait III. Virginia is survived by six children; Sandra Robinson and husband Richard, Gary Crosthwait and wife Linda S., Larry Crosthwait and wife Linda K., Bobby Crosthwait and wife Marcia, Margie DuBois and husband Jim, and Janice Sliger and husband Ken. Ten grandchildren; Matt Crosthwait and wife Jennifer, Brian Crosthwait and wife Tabitha, Mark Crosthwait and wife Jessica, Chelsie Gabel and husband Scott, Amy Clark and husband Chris, Candace Harper, Brock Crosthwait and wife Stacy, Jennifer Crosthwait, Lance Tuck and wife Jamie, and Cole Sliger and sixteen great-grandchildren and one due in February 2017. Those serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary bearers will be her son in-laws. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Mary Niblack Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive guests from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday evening, November 4, 2016 at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home
