Martha Ann Sanders, age 81, passed away on February 7, 2024, in Denison, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at CrystalRock Cathedral in Ardmore, Okla. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park of Ardmore.
Martha was born on November 29, 1942, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Thomas L. Coley and Thelma J. (Norton) Coley. She attended and graduated from Byng High School of Byng, Okla. She married Wendel Wells in 1959 in Ada, Okla. Martha was a homemaker most of her life. Her marriage to Wendel ended in 1965 and she moved to Moore, Okla., where she continued devoting her life to her children. She then met and married Geary Sanders on October 14, 1966, in Wichita Falls, Texas. The couple moved to Ardmore, Okla., in 1972, and they became members of Northwest Assembly of God Church in 1974. Martha always had a deep faith and her most important relationship was with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. One of her greatest accomplishments was instilling in her children a deep faith in God. Martha worked at the Ramada Inn as an auditor and later as the secretary for the Ardmore Chief of Police and was a dispatcher. Martha was a voracious reader who loved to go fishing anytime she could, but in her free time, she liked to go to the casinos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Coley, sister, Wanda Hood, and son-in-law, Dale Lambert.
Martha is survived by her husband, Geary Sanders, her children; Rick Wells and wife, Diane, JoAnn Wells, Denise Ishcomer and husband, Lavelle, Geary Sanders Jr. and wife, Kayla Whitford, Dale Sanders and wife, Michelle, fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, brother, Tom Coley, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Casket bearers will be Ethan Sanders, Robbie Wells, Cory Wells, Cody Wells, Jason Coley, and Noah Riley. Honorary casket bearers will be Dustin Ishcomer and Kyle Reynolds.
