Margie Bell (Manuel) Cosey, age 97, passed away in to the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with Pastor John Credle officiating. Services are under the direction of the family. Cremation with care under the direction of Griffin ~ Hillcrest Crematory. Margie was born in Ardmore, Okla. on September 13, 1926, to Floyd Manuel Sr. and Minnie (Riggs) Manuel. Attended grade school at Dunbar and went back to Gainesville in 7th grade. Margie graduated and was Salutatorian of Booker T. Washington class of 1945, Gainesville, TX. She then moved to Ardmore, Okla. where she worked at Macedonia Daycare Center; where she touched the lives of multiple children and their families. Becoming affectionally known as MeeMaw. She married Monroe Albert Cosey on September 13, 1950, in Ardmore, Okla. Monroe and Margie celebrated sixty-three years of marital bliss until his passing in 2013. Margie retired from the daycare and continued caring for her grandchildren and was known for her devotion to teaching her family to read and write. She loved playing a card game called “Bonanza” and belonged to a club that met every Friday. Margie will be remembered for her cooking and her desserts will be remembered by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers; James Manuel, Fred Manuel, and Eugene Manuel, Sr. Margie is survived by her son, Henri Cosey, and his wife, Beverly, of Houston, Texas; daughter, Stacey Rankin of Omaha, Nebraska., grandchildren, Danyelle Rankin, JaMia Cody, and Marcus Cody, Pierre Corner, Paris Corner and Golden Corner, great-grandchildren, Jaylah Stubblefield, Zyon Franklin, Evelyn Cody, and Cayden Cody; brother, Floyd Manuel Jr. of Ardmore; bonus daughter, Celicia Fuller, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and other extended family. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, May 2, 2024, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home of Ardmore, Okla.
