Cheryl Gwen “Mac” Rogers, age 68, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 13, 2024, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Pastor Bobby Freeman officiating. Interment to follow in Enville Cemetery, Enville, Okla.
Cheryl was born on December 30, 1955, to Charles Edward McNeely and Winnie Mae (Ned) McNeely in Talihina, Okla. She attended Plainview Schools and was a graduate of the Plainview High School, Class of 1974. Cheryl married Ricky Eugene Rogers on September 21, 1974, in Ardmore, Okla. She worked for Carter County for over 31 years. She started working with the Sheriff’s Department, the District Attorney’s Office, and in June of 2008, retired from Carter County District One Barn.
Cheryl liked to read mystery and crime novels, and watching her PBR, OU softball and basketball. Anytime she could, she would watch one of Elvis Presley’s movies, but her favorite thing to do was camping with family and riding four-wheelers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Winnie (Ned) McNeely, sister, Melinda Sue (McNeely) Smith, brother, Nicky Dion McNeely, aunt, Mary Helen Boston, uncle, William Batson Ned, nephew, Doug “Big Time” Smith, and great-nephew, Billy Max Smith.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Ricky Rogers of 49 years, daughter, Mandy and husband, Curtis Peoples Jr. Granddaughters: Emilee Cryer, Macee Cryer, Lacie Peoples, and Kayleigh Peoples, and one great-grandson, Brycen McClure. Brother, William Charles McNeely and wife, Vicki, brother-in-law, Douglas Jerome Smith, uncle, Carnes Porter, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be Richie Smith, Alec Smith, Charlie McNeely, Justin Rogers, Josh Rogers, and Brody Rogers. Her granddaughters will serve as honorary bearers.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, July 12, 2024, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home
