Obituary of D. Donelle (Brooks) Fritts

D. Donelle (Brooks) Fritts, age 95, passed away on August 7, 2024, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 12, 2024, at Merrick Drive Church of Christ with Ministers Tim Hunt and Ron Benedict officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Donelle was born on November 11, 1928, to Homer Jackson Brooks and Bessie Myrtle (Renfroe) Brooks in Edinburg, Texas. She attended and graduated from Edinburg Schools. She married James Troy Fritts on July 25, 1946, in Edinburg, Texas. Donelle worked for a short time as a Paraprofessional in Edinburg for 12 years and was a homemaker the most of her life. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Billy Jack and Homer Allen, siblings, GC Fritts and Francis Lequeux and grandsons, Dakota Owens and Xavier Hernandez, daughter in -law Susie Fritts. Donelle is survived by eight children, four sons and four daughters; daughter, Sharon Graham and husband, Doug, of Lone Grove; son, Jimmy Fritts and wife, Lou, of Palmer, Alaska; son, Kenneth Fritts and wife, Kristina, of Sealy, TX; son, Cleve Fritts, of Lone Grove, son, Tim Fritts and wife, Kelley, of Ardmore; daughter, Beth Glass and husband, Morgan, of Chesapeake, Virginia; daughter, Judy Westerman and husband, Brett, of Mt. Vernon, TX; daughter, Vicki Malone, and husband Jerry, of Paris, TX; thirty grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Griffin~Hillcrest.
