Obituary of Luther Autrey

Luther Charles Autrey, age 77, of Springer, Okla., passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Dorries officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore. Luther was born on the 20th day of August 1947, to Chester Clyde Autrey and Vidie Mae (Belt) Autrey. Luther married LeeAnn (Belk) Autrey on May 1, 1968, at Oklahoma City, Okla. He leaves behind a legacy that will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will mostly be remembered for his generosity, great humor, strength, diligence, compassion, and for his love of his country. Now he can finally rest with his sweetheart LeeAnn whom he cherished every day of his life. Death is not the end. Luther will live on in our hearts if we continue to keep his memory alive, speak his name, and always remember him as he was. Let us remember the good and bad times. This was his life, his love, and most of all his legacy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, LeeAnn Autrey. Luther is survived by five daughters: Samantha Sterry and husband, John, Crystal Autrey and fiancé, Jamell Washington, Tammy Quistian, Tina Tannahill, and Deena Tallman. Twelve grandchildren: Alyssa Tallman, Ashley Mobely, Nathanel Lantz and wife, Crystal, Kelvin Nugent, Jr., Charles Autrey, Jacob Autrey, Faith Autrey, Mackayla Quistian, Brieanna Quistian, Christian Quistian, “Bright Eyes” Serenity Hartline, and William Tannahill, and eight great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathaniel Lantz, Kelvin Nugent, Jr., Charles Autrey, Christian Quistian, Jamell Washington, and William Tannahill. The honorary bearer will be Jacob Autrey.
