Obituary of Geraldine Lois Taylor

Geraldine Lois Taylor, age 74, passed away on December 15, 2024, in Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Durwood Cemetery, with Pastor Stanly Shomo officiating. Geraldine was born in Talihina, Okla. on February 2, 1950 to Edward Lawrence Taylor and Alice (Tubbee) Taylor. She attended and graduated from Dickson High School with the class of 1969. She moved to Dallas, TX in 1970, where she went to Pittman Business College. She then took a position for the Bureau of Indian affairs as a secretary. Geraldine met Irvin Bigheadman who was from Montana. From that relationship came two children, Sheila and Amy. In 1976, she moved to Ardmore, Okla., to be close to her family. Geraldine went to work at Brookside Nursing Home in Madill, Cooks Laundry and then The Ardmore Care Center. Her last job was with Lake Murray Lodge in housekeeping. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching her TV shows, and traveling with her family. She loved her family and just being with them. Geraldine was an active member of Durwood Missionary Baptist Church and was devoted to her church home. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Winston Taylor, Danny Taylor and Ed Taylor, and two sisters, Doris Taylor and Valerie Taylor. Geraldine is survived by two daughters; Amy Scott and husband Jerry, and Sheila Ramirez and husband Raymond, one granddaughter, Angelica Ramirez, one grandson, Raymond Sanchez, two great-grandfluffs; Tater and Little bear, six siblings: Margie Taylor of Durwood, Letha Taylor of Durwood, Richard Taylor and wife Sandra of Ardmore, Jennifer Taylor of Durwood, Eileen Hughes and husband Chris of Ardmore, and Stephanie Frank and husband Norman of Ardmore, aunt, Josephine Taylor of Durwood, and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers will be Ramond Ramirez, Roderick Sayers, Harold “Popo” Marris, Kamron Frank, Josh Kale, and Bruce Columbus. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Taylor. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
