Obituary of Jeremy Wayne “Skeeter” Gill
Please share a memory of Jeremy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With great sadness, we announce Jeremy Wayne “Skeeter” Gill's passing. Jeremy was a resident of Harrah, OK. He died from injuries sustained in a single-car accident on December 14, 2024, at the age of 40. A Gathering will be held from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Saturday, December 21, 2024, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Jeremy was born in Ardmore, Okla. on October 12, 1984. Around the age of three, Jeremy and his family moved to Greenville, Texas, where he started school. In 1992 Jeremy and his mother moved to Lone Grove, Okla. where he gained a dad, Gordon, and a brother, Anthony.
Jeremy attended Lone Grove schools, class of 2003. In his school years, he was part of the “Thundering Herd” playing the snare drum. Jeremy received many awards while in school and was well-liked. With his witty sense of humor, he loved to make people laugh. In sixth grade, he received an award called “Joking-Jeremy.” In his Junior and Senior years, he attended SOTC where he took auto-body classes and won multiple awards for his skill in painting.
Jeremy had a passion for working on old vehicles. He got his first fixer-upper at the age of 12. He and Anthony spent many hours working together. Jeremy carried his passion for tinkering with vehicles all throughout his life. He especially loved working on low-rider trucks. Chances are if you ever saw Jeremy, you saw him in an orange lowrider with hydraulics; or at least have a memory of him and one of his trucks. He could fix literally anything.
Jeremy was a very passionate person, kind, friendly, and was always there to lend a helping hand. If you knew Jeremy, he was your friend. He loved animals, especially his old cat, Muff. Jeremy worked as an electrical apprentice before getting his unlimited journeyman license at the age of twenty-one. He was the best electrician and the hardest worker; he would never let anyone out do him. He was also a great teacher, who taught many apprentices and helped them grow in their career. Jeremy married his best friend Elizabeth (Goodwin) Gill on October 31, 2010. They had many trips and experiences including countless Colorado trips to spend time with friends and see the beautiful scenery, trips to Florida, and endless camping trips at the lake. They also shared a love of scuba diving and hiking. Jeremy always dreamed of hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Jeremy is predeceased by his father, Lonnie Gill, and his brother, Anthony Bonnell.
Jeremy is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Goodwin) Gill, of the home; his son, Wyatt Allen Don Hodges, Lone Grove; his parents, Sherry (Marsh) Bonnell and Gordon Bonnell, Lone Grove; and his sister, Lynana Vizcarra, Anderson, Indiana and a host of family and friends.
