Vicki Kaye Mills, age 71, passed away in Ada, Okla. on December 31, 2024. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla.
Vicki was born on May 5, 1953, to Ken Pettitt and Inez (Lewis) Pettitt in Gainesville, Texas. She attended and graduated from Enid High School with the Class of 1971. After graduation, she worked as a secretary for the Federal Government in Ardmore. Vicki married Gary Mills at the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore, Okla. on April 19, 1975. They lived in Anadarko for fifteen years where she worked as a secretary for the Anadarko Schools. The couple then moved to Ardmore. She took a position with the Chickasaw Nation in 2001, with the Fresh Start Nutrition Center in Ada, Okla. She went on to attend ECU, where she received a Bachelors in Business Administration in 2005. She moved positions to Chickasaw’s Winstar World Casino, overseeing Human Resources. She then took a position as the Administrative Assistant at The Chickasaw Cultural Center. Vicki retired from her position with the Nation in October of 2022. In 2014, they moved to Davis, Okla.
A very devoted Mother and Grandmother, Vickie would support her children and grandchildren at any of their events; she would even facetime through the phone to not miss anything. She would go all out for the holidays and loved to decorate. She enjoyed working with her hands, making gifts for the family and sewing; she even made masks for friends and family during covid. When given the chance, she loved to go on trips with her husband and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Kenneth Pettitt and Terry Pettitt.
Vicki is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary Mills, daughter, Kelli LaRue and husband Preston, and one son, Geoffrey Mills, three grandchildren; Greysen Mills, Kaylin LaRue, and Paxton LaRue, sister, Shari Lamunyon, and a host of family and friends.
